Charles Bradley: Soul of America, my feature length directorial debut, kicked off its festival run at SXSW on Friday March 9th! The documentary charts the incredible rise of 62 year old aspiring soul singer Charles Bradley who overcame a life riddled with abandonment, homelessness, poverty and tragedy and released his critically acclaimed debut album in 2011. Rated by Rolling Stone magazine as one of the top 50 records of 2011, the album landed Charles over 110 shows in 17 countries on 3 continents in it's first year alone along with major festival performances and appearances on Jay Leno and Carson Daily.
